INHABITED SPACES: childhoods and plays in early childhood education

n this article, we socialize reflexions whose theme is the relation between the spaces there are appropriate for the children and the construction of their childhoods, their childhood’s conception, in the day-by-day of a kindergarten’s institution. Our interest is, in special, to comprehend how children develop ideas about spaces with the influence of their own experiences. The act of playing is crucial in this investigation, as a former of the human being that dialogues with the place, which is the affective link between people and the spaces. During the challenge of understanding this theme, some topics have been teasing us: what is particular of the children, of their childhoods, in the process of the perception of space? In which ways our places as kindergarten’s teachers, interferes in the perceptions of space and in the constitution of their own childhoods? Some episodes, experienced and watched with the children, are shared as encouragements for the reflexions that were anchored in the Geography of Childhoods. We give a pause in the dialogue, showing that our quotidian, close to the children, have been giving us the opportunity of comprehending that there is a relation between democratic relationships and the relevance of playing, as an affirmation of “place-life”. In this way, our investigations reveal that children act lively in their capacities of transforming the spaces, since we, adults, don’t subdue them, permitting the conditions for it to happen. Neste trabalho socializamos reflexões cuja temática é a relação dos espaços destinados às infâncias e a constituição dessas, suas emergências, no cotidiano de uma instituição de Educação Infantil. Interessa-nos, em especial, compreender como as crianças constituem ideias sobre os espaços a partir de suas vivências. O brincar como estruturante do humano dialoga com lugar, elo afetivo entre pessoas e espaços, ganhando relevância nessa investigação. No desafio da compreensão dessa temática algumas questões têm nos provocado: o que é próprio das crianças, de suas infâncias, no movimento de percepção do espaço? De que modo(s) o lugar que ocupamos, como professoras de Educação Infantil, interfere nas percepções de espaço e na constituição das próprias infâncias? Episódios vividos e observados junto às crianças são aqui partilhados enquanto propulsores de reflexões ancoradas na Geografia da Infância. Pausamos o diálogo, apontando que o cotidiano junto às crianças têm nos oportunizado a compreensão de que há relação entre relacionamentos democráticos e o lugar do brincar, como afirmação de lugarvida. Nesse sentido, nossas investigações indicam que as crianças mostram-se vigorosas em suas capacidades de transformação dos espaços, desde que, nós adultos, não as subjuguemos, permitindo as condições para que isso aconteça
