Pyrazolopyrimidines are fused heterocyclic ring systems which structurally can consider as bioisosteres of adenine, which is fundamental for every aspect of cell life. Pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidines derivatives have been explored for their inhibitory activity towards various protein kinase enzymes and their role as anticancer agents.
