This paper is a systematic review of burnout in nurses who work in palliative care. Objectives: To investigate and to analyze the current literature on burnout in nurses of palliative care. Methods: For this systematic review we made searches in electronic databases (CINAHL, MEDLINE, MEDICLATINA, SCIELO) in 2009-2015. Results: The burnout affects the nurse, the patient, the family and the team. Nurses are the professional group with higher levels of fatigue and burnout. The work overload, lack of working conditions for the provision of care to the patient and family, the disorganization of work, difficulties in interpersonal relationships with peers and relatives and lack of psychological support in the institution serve as risk factors for...
