POETICS OF SLEEP AND DREAM IN THE TEXTS OF M. KUZMIN

<p>The article analyzes the poetic and aesthetic development of the image of dream and sleep in the works of M. Kuzmin. Status of sleep in M. Kuzmin’s works correlates with wakefulness. Sleep is an important part of not only human physiology, but in many ways defines the spiritual and creative component of existence. The dream becomes a “meeting place” of day’s and night’s world of man, conscious and subconscious. A special place is given to the structure of dreams, reproduced in poetry and prose texts. Sleep and dreams are part of the description of M. Kuzmin’s world image. In his works lexicon of the lexicalsemantic field “Dream” and related phenomena are actively represented. The analysis of lexicon, semantic and phonetic relations of the field “Dream” with other structures of the text leads to the conclusion about the universality of the concept of sleep and dream in the works by Kuzmin. The idea of sleep and dream permeates not only human life, but also the objects of animated and inanimate nature. Some of prose and poetry texts include detailed descriptions of dreams. Sleep is a mediator between the world of the visible and the invisible, the images of the dream at the same time connect these worlds, and disconnect them. As the border place between “day” and “night” consciousness, sleep becomes a forerunner of creative process. As a possible system of the ideal world dream becomes a place of fulfillment of desires, a meeting place for lovers, a forerunner of love.
