HUBUNGAN ANTARA PENGETAHUAN DENGAN KEPATUHAN TENTANG PENGGUNAAN INSULIN PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELLITUS DI POLIKLINIK PENYAKIT DALAM RSUD. DR. H. MOCH. ANSARI SALEH BANJARMASIN

Diabetes mellitus is a degenerative disease that a lot of found today. The Society of Endocrinology (PERKENI) estimates the number of people with Diabetes Mellitus in Indonesia will increasing from the baseline 8.4 million people in 2000 to about 21.3 million in 2030.\ud This study aims to determine the level of knowledge and adherence patient as well as to determine the correlation between knowledge and adherence at the use of insulin in patients with Diabetes Mellitus in Internal Medicine Clinic at the Dr. H. Moch. Ansari Saleh Banjarmasin Hospital. This study was using cross sectional design and prospective with purposive sampling technique. The Sample who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were 52 patient. The data were collecting by completion knowledge and adherence questionnaire (MMAS).\ud The results showed that the level of knowledge on the use of insulin is low knowledge level 3 patients (5.77%), the level of knowledge moderate 16 patients (30.77%) , a high level of knowledge of 33 patients (63.46%). The level of patient adherence in the use of insulin were low adherence rate of 21 patients (40.38%), the moderate level of adherence were 23 patients (44.24%), a high level of adherence were 8 patients (15,38). There is no significant correlation between two variables and the correlations was positive with the direction and low strength correlation (0.082) (p> 0.05).\ud Based on this study, it can be concluded that patients on insulin therapy at Internal Disease Polyclinic Dr. H. Moch. Ansari Saleh Banjarmasin Hospital predominantly have a high knowledge level and the level of adherence was moderate. So the correlation was no significant between knowledge and adherence with the positive correlation.\u
