PENAPISAN KASUS MALARIA DI DESA KRANDEGAN KECAMATAN PANINGGARAN KABUPATEN PEKALONGAN JAWA TENGAH TAHUN 2000

<p>A study on malaria early detection screening was conducted in Krandegan village. Paninggaran district, Pekalongan regency in November 2000. The aim of this study was to detect and to screen malaria cases through blood slides examination. This method could easily detect early symptoms of malaria patients. This screening method was pertaining to several criteria. These criteria involving the validity test to determine the sensitivity and specificity of malaria symptoms as well as the reliability test to determine the Coeficient Kappa. The result of this malaria screening showed that in Krandegan village, malaria was caused by Plasmodium falciparum (79. 17%), and P. vivax (16.67%). In this study the Coeficient Kappa was 0.63. The validity of the examination of the blood specimen showed that the number of the sensitivity (45.83%). the specificity (99.42%) and the positive predictive value (91.67%) of a combination of fever and over exhausted symptoms were higher than other symptoms. These symptoms could be used to detect the first malaria symptoms.</p><p> </p><p>Keywords: malaria. symptom detection
