The realization of the Papanicolaou Test is recognized worldwide as a positive and effective strategy for early detection of cervical cancer in the female population and has truly changed the incidence and mortality rates for this cancer. The study aimed to investigate the causes that lead some women not performing and the feelings involved during the execution of this test. This is a descriptive and exploratory research.
