ABSTRACT In this paper, a new compounding distribution, named zero truncated Lindley-Poisson distribution is introduced. The probability density function, cumulative distribution function, survival function, failure rate function and quantiles expressions of it are provided. The parameters estimatives were obtained by six methods: maximum likelihood (MLE), ordinary least-squares (OLS), weighted least-squares (WLS), maximum product of spacings (MPS), Crame´r-von-Mises (CM) and Anderson-Darling (AD), and intensive simulation studies are conducted to evaluate the performance of parameter estimation. Some generalizations are also proposed. Application in a real data set is given and shows that the composed zero truncated Lindley-Poisson distrib...
