TEMPORAL BREAKING: DOCUMENTARY REPRESENTATION IN FORCED DISPLACEMENT PLACES

Heterotopias (other spaces) returning to Foucault, in heterochronies as open spaces that "express a break with traditional time" (1986, p. 26). In this article, heterochronies are understood as memory layers accumulated in places of forced displacement. These sites, located in rural areas of Colombia, are depicted in documentary films produced during the period of "democratic security" (Ministry of National Defence, 2003), between 2002 and 2010. Based on the research: Heterotopia: ("other spaces") in documentaries of the Colombian armed conflict (Luna, 2011)it applies a method of discourse analysis to three documentaries on forced displacement, which is complemented by interviews and press releases about those jobs. The case studies show how the traditional sense of time, present in the daily lives of the victims of armed conflict (indigenous, peasants and children), is broken by the arrival of armed conflict. This discontinuity is projected through fragments of memory tied to a sense of place (central idea in representing Colombian documentaries)
