The paper described the political and historical conditions for the construction of citizenship. To this aim the following aspects are taken in consideration: the evolution of citizenship concept, Citizenship and post modernity: The role of the government and the citizen's role in the construction of citizenship. The paper is based on a literature and online review. We conclude that social settings should be par excellence the space for critical analysis of itself, individual and community knowledge
