PLANNING RURAL TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN MACEDONIA

The paper attempts to emphasize the necessity of implementing planning process in tourism development, in particular to establishing preconditions for enhancing rural tourism. In this line, the research aims to highlight some stylized facts referring potentials for introducing rural tourism zones. For the purpose of the research, the case of Macedonia is analysed. The outcomes confirm modest results in tourism development. The paper contributes by identification of numerous potential rural tourism development zones, which may serve as a starting point in boosting modest up-to-date tourism results in Macedonia
