Background: Pulmonary sequestration (PS) is a rare congenital lung malformation. In this study, we evaluated the diagnosis and treatment of PS in 31 adult patients at a single institution. Methods: A retrospective review of all patients 16 years of age and older with PS in a single institution between January 1985 and January 2011 was conducted. The following data were analyzed for all patients: major symptoms, diagnostic procedures, operative findings, operative techniques, postoperative complications, and outcome.
