Monte Carlo simulation using Simple Random Sampling (SRS) technique is popularly known for its ability to handle complex uncertainty problems. However, to produce a reasonable result, it requires huge sample size. This makes it to be computationally expensive, time consuming and unfit for online power system applications. In this article, the performance of Latin Hypercube Sampling (LHS) technique is explored and compared with SRS in term of accuracy, robustness and speed for small signal stability application in a wind generator-connected power system.
