Dietary fat-derived lipid oleoylethanolamide (OEA) has shown to modulate lipid metabolism through a peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-alpha (PPAR-α)-mediated mechanism. In our study, we further demonstrated that OEA, as an atheroprotective agent, modulated the atherosclerotic plaques development.
