The author explores the poetic works of the great Roman poet Publius Ovidius Naso, written during his exile on the west coast of the Black Sea. His "Tristia" and "Epistulae ex Ponto" are valuable ancient sources of ethno-psychology of North-Western and Eastern Black Sea region. The undertaken research is aimed at understanding the features of the symbolic world and cultural values of this region’s population
