The objective of this work is to estimate the amount of biogas that could be obtained\ud from the anaerobic decomposition of the organic fraction of the municipal solid waste\ud (MSW) disposed in a sanitary landfill, by capturing and taking advantage of it to\ud generate electricity which can be consumed by Ciénega Region of Chapala in the\ud state of Michoacán, México. To estimate the biogas captured, the Mexican Model of\ud Biogas version 2.0 was used; capturing MSW for 11 years with a project life of 21\ud years.
