Two provenances of broiler chickens (Ross and Prelux-bro) were (50 males and 50 females) were subjected to an extensive indoor rearing followed by a free-range rearing for a half of the population during the first 28 days. The age of chickens when slaughtered was 56 days. The fatty acid composition of breasts with skin (white meat) and legs with skin (dark meat) was analysed. Analyses of the fatty acid composition were performed with an in situ transesterification and a capilary column Gas -Liguid chromatography.
