The present research was designed to study theRelationship or individual Psychopathology and the family. For this purpose psychotic and neurotic patients were selected from the psychiatry wards of Lady Reading and Khyber Teaching Hospitals. Their families were approached and those families were kept in the sample which agreed to co-operate. An equal number of families were selected who did not have a neurotic or psychotic member.Different psychological tests were administered to each member of the family in every category. The purpose of these tests was to assess the mental health adjustment of a person in the family and the ego-strength of each family member.
