Recognizing that the teaching practice conducted by various foreign language teachers often neglects the explicit work on culture in their educational options, we find it useful to come back to this approach as a didactician, and question what culture we are referring to when considering a language class . We therefore propose to reflect on the definition of “culture” as well as the role of the foreign language teacher (FL) played in the development of intercultural competence among learners, and to provide some practical examples of the work that can be conducted in FL in this regard
