Sofrimento físico e mental de auxiliares de enfermagem numa abordagem gerencial: um estudo de caso

The present study set out to discover the organization and work relationships in the hospital atmosphere within the perspective of the specific professional category of nursing aide. To this end, relationships were explored concerning the themes: 1) work and health with a focus on physical and mental suffering and 2) stress and neuroses and their implications for the administration of the manpower. To carry out the research, the model and specific methodology proposed by Siqueira (1994) were used and, to complement the results obtained, the technique of content analysis was utilized for confirmation or rejection of previously collected data. The results confirm the situation of physical and mental exhaustion, of submission to stressing situations and of the development of neuroses, leading to dissatisfaction with the various forms of professional relationships and with the form of administration
