This paper gives a review of the most efficient algorithms designed to track the maximum power point (MPP) for catching the maximum wind power by a variable speed wind turbine (VSWT). We then design a new maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm using the Variable Structure Automatic Systems approach (VSAS).
