The discovery that the electron current fluctuations through Zener diode pn junctions in reverse bias mode, which arise via quantum barrier tunnelling, are completely driven by space fluctuations, has revolutionized the detection and characterization of gravitational waves, which are space fluctuations, and also has revolutionized the interpretation of probabilities in the quantum theory.
