Primary cicatricial alopecia is classified amongst hairs diseases with permanent inflammatory destruction of the hair follicle. The treatment of primary cicatricial alopecia is quite a challenge. The aim of treatment is to slow down or halt progression of the disease. Topical and intralesional corticosteroids and antimalarials are the mainstay in the treatment of lymphocytic primary cicatricial alopecia. Systemic immunosuppresants are used in refractory cases. Antibiotics and retinoids are first-line treatment in the treatment of neutrophilic cicatricial alopecia.
