One of the determining factors in the choice of studies is the return associated with these studies. If the continuation of studies in higher education generally constitutes a profitable decision in financial terms, this profitability varies according to the curriculum or to individual characteristics. According to the human capital theory, education involves an investment which allows the increase of the productivity of those which profit from it, and implies an increase in their earnings.
