The article considers in detail the mechanisms of therapeutic action of various mucoactive agents. Modern approaches to mucoactive therapy of respiratory diseases in children are presented, they are accompanied by the formation of a viscous secretion. At the same time, the expediency of combined use of drugs having different mechanism of mucoactive action — ambroxol and carbocysteine is justified.
