International audienceThe Synonyma of Isidore of Seville enjoyed a great success during the Middle Ages, and this popularity is proved, in particular, by a very abundant literary posterity. The book, of ascetic content, was used principally in the moral and spiritual literature, but this article studies three other, unexpected, aspects of this posterity: the presence of the Synonyma in prayers, hagiographical texts and canonical collections.
