L’utilisation des études de cas pour analyser les coopérations inter-entreprises : des justifications méthodologiques au pragmatisme empirique

Working Paper Moisa ; 2/2010 Our paper aims to answer two questions: Why and how to use case studies in strategic alliances analysis? In response to the first question, we have shown that the complexity and dynamism of the phenomenon being studied, the multiplicity of perspectives and multidimensional nature of certain variables, justify such an action. Regarding the second question, we have shown, through numerous illustrations, the main stages of a case study. Ultimately, we argue that case studies should be a prerequisite step in any research in management science. Such methodological design allows to identify key variables and characterize the causal relationships before any confirmatory analysis. It is also strongly recommended to use triple triangulation of data sources, different perspectives and multiple respondents and a combination of methodological tools
