International audienceWhich tools does one use for children who do not know how to read or write and whose multilingual and multicultural competences we would like to document ?One possible answer : the portfolio. Two types of portfolios have been used : the portfolios of the European Council and the models of portfolios specifically created for kindergartens. The comparative analysis presented in the first part of the article proves that these tools only partially suit the public we are interested in. Hence the creation of a European portfolio of languages, “My first steps in French and in German”, conceptualized for French children and children with double nationalities between the ages of two and five, studying in Germany. ...
