cited By 21International audienceThis paper concerns the rheological behavior of carboxymethylcelulloses (CMC) derived after one and two successive steps from different non-wood bleached cellulose pulps. CMC rheological characterization was achieved in 0.1 M NaCl solution, as a function of polymer concentration. The evidence of a critical concentration (C* < 1 g/L) is discussed from steady shear and dynamic experiments. Rheological properties of the CMC were found to depend on the cellulose source reactivity and on their degree of substitution (DS).
