Le bâtiment E1 de Saint-Georges-lès-Baillargeaux : un exemple typique d'architecture domestique laténienne en terre et bois de La Tène D1b/D2a

International audienceSituated to thje north of the city of Poitiers, the excavation of the rural establishment of Saint-Georges-lès-Baillargeaux revealed the presence of several timber buildings that were destroyed by a violent fire in the middle of first century BC. The main house, with its surface area of 70 m² and built on four posts with rejected wall, underwent a detailed investigation. The excavation of the post holes revealed a large quantity of daub fragments and the study of the wood imprints on these elements specified how the walls of the buildings were built. Physical and chemical analyses have been undertaken to detail the composition of some fragments that still preserved their coating.Situé au nord de l'actuelle ville de Poitiers, la fouille de l'établissement rural de Saint-Georges-lès-Baillargeaux a révélé la présence de plusieurs bâtiments sur poteaux ayant subi un incendie au milieu du Ier siècle avant notre ère. La conservation exceptionnelle du bâtiment principal, un édifice à quatre poteaux porteurs et paroi rejetée de 70 m² de superficie, a fait l'objet d'une étude exhaustive. La fouille des négatifs des poteaux du bâtiment est ainsi à l'origine de la découverte d'une grande quantité de fragments de torchis. L'étude des empreintes de bois sur ces éléments a permis de préciser la technique de mise en œuvre de la paroi du bâtiment. Certains fragments présentant encore de l'enduit, des analyses physico-chimiques ont pu être réalisées afin d'en préciser la composition
