It is shown that in patients with acute hepatitis B with concomitant chronic alcohol consumption in hepatotoxic doses in acute period of the disease is characterized by low serum levels of interleukin-2 and high levels of interleukin-8, compared with patients without this cofactor. In the convalescence period in these patients there remains an imbalance in cytokine status due to low serum levels of interleukin-2 and a high level of interleukin-6 and interleukin-8 that is accompanied by high activity of alanine-aminotransferase, more frequent HBsAg blood circulating and less seroconversion rate with anti-Hbe presence
