The paper studied the levels IGFBP-3 in patients with acromegaly, received different therapies. The findings showed that patients with acromegaly after surgical removal of a pituitary tumor, as well as after radiation therapy, the most sensitive indicator, reflecting the efficacy of treatment and characterizing the presence or absence of residual tumor tissue, that has secretory activity, is IGFBP-3, which may be an additional biochemical marker of disease activity
