The article presents the challenges of social movements in Brazil to neo-Iiberal policy of criminalizing the participation of social movements that denounce the authoritarian state, the precarious Iiving conditions and violence and work directly with leaders of these movements. ln the XXI century, we see the revival of some politicai movements which challenge the neo-authoritarianism and exercise their right of politicai participation beyond the institutionalized spaces.
