PaperPg. 129-142.A new "yardstick" for measuring rotating machinery vibration is seen in the real time spectrum analyzer. This paper presents some actual case history data that was analyzed using a real time spectrum analyzer. The object in doing so is to present the reader with a better understanding of the capabilities obtainable through use of this hybrid analyzer for monitoring vibration. Some theory of operation is also presented to describe how this tool works so that its application can be better understood
