Various efforts have been made to minimize these incidents, such as patient safety training, supervision of head nurses, annual patient safety assessment, and the establishment of patient safety committee (PSC). However, the incidence of UI is still widely found. One alternative solution to this issue is the implementation of interprofessional collaboration. Even though the collaboration among health personnel has been applied, there are still many health workers who do not understand the importance of this collaboration. This study aimed to identify interprofessional collaboration to improve the implementation of patient safety goals in hospitals. This study was a quasi-experiment conducted in two groups, i.e., intervention and control groups, and was conducted from May to July 2017 in PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital in Wonosobo. The samples were 20 nurses and 10 physicians working in the service units. A purposive sampling was used to recruit the samples that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses. The results indicated that interprofessional collaboration could improve the implementation of hospital patient safety goals as evidenced in the result of simple linear regression of sig = 0.05 and regression coefficient of 0.074. Interprofessional collaboration gave positive effects on the implementation of patient safety goals, indicating that better interprofessional collaboration would result in better implementation of patient safety goals.
