Up to now little is known bout the bioavailability of vitamin B-6 from enriched foods. The objective of this pilot study was to establish the study design: A male volunteer received 29 mu mol of pyridoxine-HCl in multivitamin juice, energy-drink or dissolved in tap-water. In addition, circadian pattern of vitamin B-6-concentration in plasma and urine were determined without B-6-application and subtracted from the measured values. Blood samples and urine mictions were collected every 30 / 60 mins. and several B-6-vitamers and 4-pyridoxic acid (PA) were quantified in plasma, urine and the beverages with the same HPLC-method, which is based on Kimura 1996.
