The ability to locally modify the inside of microfluidic channels with functional groups that allow coupling of biologically-relevant molecules is of ever-rising relevance. We report the first example of visible-light induced hydrosilylation on hydrogen-terminated silanized glass (H-?-Glass) and cyclic olefin copolymer (H-?-SiCOC). Enhanced reactivity was achieved via an additional radical-stabilizing component, which resulted in the formation of a H-terminated hybrid surface. Exposed glass and COC surfaces, and the inside of microchannels were modified with a covalently attached organic monolayer using visible light. Detailed characterization thereof was conducted by measurements of G-ATR, XPS, SEM and microscopy.</p
