The competence approach to learning and teaching has been described by several theoretical models. These formal models are often not integrated with concrete educational activity. On the contrary, this article proposes a practical implementation of the competence approach in education. The model of reference is the Comprehensive Competence-based Education framework, defined for the vocational education and used to analyse the curriculum of some vocational schools in the Netherlands.
