This study aimed at gauging the Child Behaviour Checklist ( CBCL ), developed by Achenbach ( see: Achenbach, T.M., Edelbrock, C.S. Manual for the child behaviour checklist and revised child behaviour profile. Queen City: Queen City Printer Inc, 1983 ), for the Netherlands. It was part of a larger project involving the epidemiology of psychiatric disorder in a sample of the Dutch population aged 4 - 16. The checklist was filled out by one of the child parents. Items involved: sports and other activities / levels of skill / organizational activities, clubs etc. / friends / sibling relations / school performance / detailed data on behaviour, personality, physical or mental ( dys )functioning, complaints.
