In this article an exploratory study is reported on adjectival inflection in school-age children with specific language impairment (aged 6:0-7:0). Since the morphological form of the adjective is associated with the gender of the noun and the noun is marked on the determiner, determiner selection was studied as well. For the elicitation of both determiners and adjectives, a sentence completion task was used. The SLI children lagged behind the unimpaired peers but resembled the younger children without SLI. When no difference is found with younger children, it is common to speak of delay, not disorder.
