A Modular Vehicle (MoVe) library is presented, containing driveline and vehicle dynamics component models. The library is built in Matlab\Simulink, taking advantage of its modular capabilities and real-time application possibilities. Its use is demonstrated with the construction of a 4-wheel car, containing a complex driveline (2.8l 210 kW V6 turbo engine with 5-speed automatic transmission). The model is used to show the importance of integrated modelling for studying manoeuvres that cause strong interaction between vehicle dynamics and driveline behaviour.
