The authors delineate two broad streams of research, one more psychological focusing on intrapersonal religious orientations and the other more sociological focusing on extrapersonal religious dimension, both concerned with the religion and prejudice against ethnic minorities. The authors discuss robust relationships that in the course of nearly 60 years of research have been discovered. They focus on and find dimensions of religiosity that ‘make and unmake prejudice,’ in line with the classic and paradoxical statement of Allport
