Bioturbation has major impacts on sediment biogeochemistry, which can be linked tothe functional traits of the macrofauna involved. Nereis (Hediste) diversicolor and Marenzelleriaviridis are 2 functionally different bioturbating polychaetes that strongly affect the ecology andbiogeochemistry of coastal sediments.
