International audienceHow was it possible to convert non-christians and communicate with them as they did not understand or speak the missionary's language? The challenge that the Church encountered at the time of the discovery of America was not unusual. Today we know that the Europeans who reached the New World - among whom clerics - were men from The Middle Ages, which meant they were definitely used to cohabiting with individuals who did not necessarily speak Spanish. This way, we aim at showing that the Church was perfectly prepared, be it for the missionary's tasks or else, for the techniques and methods of evangelism, whatever the language in or outside the Iberian peninsula.Comment convertir les païens, et comment communiquer avec...
