peer reviewedDe nombreuses études ont montré que le rayonnement solaire avait subi de grandes variations au cours de la deuxième moitié du 20 e siècle en raison de la variation de la nébulosité et de la quantité d'aérosols dans l'atmosphère. Quant à son évolution antérieure, elle est très difficile à retracer étant donné la rareté des observations avant 1950. Des simulations couvrant les années 1900-2014 ont ainsi été réalisées sur la Belgique à l'aide du Modèle Atmosphérique Régional MAR à une résolution spatiale de 5 km afin de reconstruire l'évolution du rayonnement solaire.
