RNA interference is a process in which a small non-coding RNA will bind to a specific messenger RNA and regulate its expression. This evolutionary conserved mechanism is found in all superior eukaryotes from plants to mammals. Nowadays, we know that RNA interference is a major regulatory process involved in developmental biology and tumor progression.
