The aim of the research was to compare perioperative and postoperative early and late complications of percutaneous dilatational (PDT) and surgical tracheostomies (ST) performed at NICU during 2012-2015. Objectives: evaluation of complications frequency after PDT and surgical tracheostomy procedures; comparison of early and late complications of both methods; to evaluate if preoperative infection is a predisposing factor for a postoperative tracheostomy infection.
