N Transport Company's Driver‘s Connection of Ergonomic Working Conditions, Lifestyle, Psychological and Social Factors with Health Complaints

Aim of the work: to evaluate N transport company's drivers' connection of ergonomic working conditions, lifestyle and psychological as well as social factors with health complaints. Objectives: 1. To evaluate the drivers' lifestyle, social and psychological health risks. 2. To reveal the features of drivers' ergonomic working conditions. 3. To investigate the health complaints of drivers and to determine their links with ergonomic working conditions, lifestyle, social and psychological health risk factors. Methodology. An instant study of anonymous questionnaire was conveyed. The questionnaire consisted of questions regarding the economic working conditions of drivers, the social and psychological factors at work as well as health complaints. Data analysis was performed using the statistical package SPSS 20.0. Results. Only 48.6 % of drivers evaluated their health as good, 51.4 % absolutely do not use tobacco, the majority of respondents consume alcohol on occasion. Social environmental factors: 56.6 %. of respondents always feel support from their manager, 55.5 % can always express their opinion at work. Statistically significant links were determined between the number of working hours and the experienced problems during work. In assessing working conditions, 61.3 %. of the respondents indicated that they sometimes suffer from prolonged working hours, in fact, most frequently the ergonomic working conditions exhaust workers with greater work experience. In assessing the linkages with health complaints, lifestyle, working conditions, psychological and social environmental factors, it was found that health complaints are often experienced by older drivers with greater length of experience. Statistically significant relationships between potentially experienced violence, threats during situations at work as well as loss of energy and mood changes were also identified. Conclusions. The majority of drivers do not devote enough time for sleep and rest as well as physical activity and nutrition problems were observed, too. Links between exhausting working conditions and working experience as well as age were identified. Drivers with greater working experience seem to have health complaints more frequently. Practical recommendations. A program for improvement of working conditions at N transport company is provided
