The effects of hydrogen cyanamide (H2CN2) treatment on earliness and yield of plum and apricot varieties grown in greenhouse

Örtüaltında yetiştirilen erik ve kayısı çeşitlerinde dormansiyi ortadan kaldırmak suretiyle, tomurcukların erken uyanmasını ve buna bağlı olarak olgunlaşmayı önceye almayı sağlamak için hidrojen siyanamid uygulamasının erkencilik ve verim üzerine etkisini belirlemek amacıyla bu çalışma planlanmıştır. Denemede, Pixy erik anacına aşılı 7 yaşlı Papaz ve Bekiroğlu erik çeşitleri ile Precoce de Tyrinthe ve Nimfa kayısı çeşitleri materyal olarak kullanılmıştır. Çalışma, 200 m2' lik serada, 2x1.5 m aralık ve mesafe ile dikilen (333 ağaç/da) 60 ağaç ve açıkta, 4x4 m aralık ve mesafe ile dikilen (62 ağaç/da) meyve koleksiyon bahçesinde 60 ağaç olacak şekilde toplam 120 ağaçta yürütülmüştür. Kontrol uygulaması ile birlikte %2 ve %4 dozunda hidrojen siyanamid etken maddeli Domino isimli preperat; toprak sıcaklığının 10oC'ye ulaştığı zaman olan 9 Ocak 2015 tarihinde uygulanmıştır. Denemede örtüaltında ve açıkta hidrojen siyanamid uygulamalarının etkisini belirlemek amacıyla fenolojik gözlemler ile pomolojik ölçümler yapılmış ve verim ile ilgili parametrelere ilişkin veriler alınmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçların genel olarak değerlendirilmesi sonucu, örtüaltında ve açıkta, hidrojen siyanamid uygulaması ile, erik ve kayısı çeşitlerinde özellikle tomurcuk kabarması ve çiçeklenme başlangıcı tarihlerinin daha önce meydana geldiği saptanmıştır. Ancak, deneme kapsamında erik çeşitleri ile gerek örtüaltı, gerekse de açıkta yeterli verim alınamamıştır. Kayısı çeşitlerinde, örtüaltı koşullarında %4 hidrojen siyanamid uygulanmış ağaçlarda, açık arazide ise kontrol grubunda bulunan ağaçlarda daha fazla verim elde edilmiştir.This study was planned in attempt to define the effects of hydrogen cyanamide on earliness and yield in order to provide early bud break and depending upon to this to ensure early maturation by means of removing dormancy in plum and apricot varieties. In the treatment, 7 years old Papaz and Bekiroğlu plum varieties grafted on Pixy plum rootstock and Precoce de Tyrinthe and Ninfa apricot varieties were used as materials. The study was carried out on 120 trees, inside 200 m2 greenhouse with 60 trees set up with the distance as 2x1.5 m (333 trees/da) and on the mixed fruit orchard with 60 trees set up with the distance as 4x4 m (62 trees/da). The preparate, which is called Domino including with a dose of 2% and 4% hydrogen cyanamide ingredient in conjunction with control application, was applied on the 9th of January 2015 when the soil temperature reached 10oC. In the treatment, in order to define the effects of hydrogen cyanamid applications inside the greenhouse and in the open field, the phenological observations and pomological measurements were carried out and the data about parameters related to yield were obtained. According to the overall evaluation of the results, inside the greenhouse and in the open field, especially the bud break and blooming dates of plum and apricot varieties occured earlier with the hydrogen cyanamide application. However, within the scope of the treatment, there were not sufficient yield on plum varieties whether inside the greenhouse or in the open field. On apricot varieties, more yield was obtained with the trees applied 4% hydrogen cyanamid inside the greenhouse and with the trees of the control group in the open field
