Management of Gout Arthritis with Diabetes Mellitus Type II in 46 Years Old Female

Gout arthritis and diabetes mellitus type II is very common disease, its prevalence is continues to increase compared to previous years throughout the world and also in Indonesia. Case. Patient is a 46 years old female, work as a Play Group teacher, came with pain and stiffness in the right knee and left foot since one week ago, this complaint has been repeatedly experienced by patients since ± 5 years and felt increasingly become heavy . Since ± 3 years ago, the patient also suffered from diabetes. Initially the patient feel always hungry and thirsty, also more often waking up at night to urinate, and recently patients often feel tingling sensation in her hands and feet. Patients also experience weight loss within the last 3 years as much as ± 10 kg from 62kg to 52kg. Conclusion. Internal factors obtained are : (46 years old, patient mother and 3 of 7 patients siblings had a diabetes mellitus history, treatment patterns still give priority to curative, lack of knowledge about the illness, lack of knowledge about diet for people with gout arthritis and type II diabetes mellitus, lack of knowledge about the importance of regular exercise)
